June 8, St. Petersburg resident fined for words in a private WhatsApp conversation
The Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg fined Denis Timofeev based on a report filed by an acquaintance he had communicated with via WhatsApp. It is reported that Denis called this acquaintance and “repeatedly” made “destructive and discrediting” statements about the Russian military. St. Petersburg Ukrainian faces prison term for statements on Telegram

June 19, Young St. Petersburg resident to be tried for “terrorist statements” online
Investigators and officers of the Border Guard Directorate of the FSB of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region detained a person who had been leaving comments online.
